Visiting home, where we live on the edge of the earth with little to neighbors, the closest gas station 20 minutes away, and 30 minutes before I run into an actual gym, I’m not left with many options. So today I took the fight to my backyard!
My workout consisted of 4 rounds of 15 reps each exercise with 1 minute rest between each round:
The bag of salt was slightly awkward because while it was heavy, it was the size of a typical bag so I couldn’t open the chest to exclude added support from the triceps & shoulders (because my grip was only shoulder-width apart). Maybe i’ll attempt to find a big ass log?
The propane tanks were amazing, essentially a larger version of a kettlebell. It was easy to incorporate but of course in the back of your head the thought is, “Shit, i hope this doesn’t explode”. I don’t believe it would but i guess we’re all gullible to the worst thanks to hollywood films.
Time to find some new props and a training buddy for tomorrow in this desolate, forsaken woods of ours. Tiger, lion or bear….
