Boxing Workout! Put Ya Gloves Up
Warmup: 5 Minutes of Shadow Boxing + 3 Minutes of Jumpe Rope
Perform the following combinations in 3 minute rounds with 1 minute rest between each combo
Jab, Power, Repeat
Jab, Power, Hook, Repeat
Jab, Cross, Hook, Uppercut, Repeat
Jab, Jab, Power, Cross, Uppercut, Repeat
Each punch should be thrown with the same velocity. Do not start at 75% building to 100%.
Congrats on making it through! It may be short but it’s much harder than it looks! Remember to cool-down and follow with good stretching :)

Visiting home, where we live on the edge of the earth with little to neighbors, the closest gas station 20 minutes away, and 30 minutes before I run into an actual gym, I’m not left with many options. So today I took the fight to my backyard!

My workout consisted of 4 rounds of 15 reps each exercise with 1 minute rest between each round:

  • Push Press (90 lb. Bag of Salt)
  • Kettle Bell Swing (Propane Tank)
  • Bent Over Row (Propane Tank x2)
  • Burpee + Pushup + Shoulder Press (Propane Tank)
  • Russian Twist + Toe Reaches (Propane Tank)

The bag of salt was slightly awkward because while it was heavy, it was the size of a typical bag so I couldn’t open the chest to exclude added support from the triceps & shoulders (because my grip was only shoulder-width apart). Maybe i’ll attempt to find a big ass log?

The propane tanks were amazing, essentially a larger version of a kettlebell. It was easy to incorporate but of course in the back of your head the thought is, “Shit, i hope this doesn’t explode”. I don’t believe it would but i guess we’re all gullible to the worst thanks to hollywood films. 

Time to find some new props and a training buddy for tomorrow in this desolate, forsaken woods of ours. Tiger, lion or bear….
